Tips to make music part of your sleep routine

Music is one of the few sleep tools that works on the first night. The trick is choosing the right kind and setting it up so it never wakes you later.
Slow it down â properly
Aim for 60â80 beats per minute. That range sits close to a resting heart rate, and your breathing tends to drift towards it without you trying.
Avoid lyrics you know
Familiar words pull language processing back online. Instrumental, ambient or unfamiliar-language tracks let your attention slide rather than follow.
Always use a timer
Audio that plays all night can fragment sleep in the lighter stages. Set a 30â45 minute fade. Every SnoozeBand model supports a shut-off timer, and the free Snooze App has one built in.
Keep the volume low
If you can hold a whisper conversation over it, it is about right. Louder is not more relaxing â it is just louder.
Make it the same every night
The same playlist, in the same order, at the same point in your routine becomes a conditioned cue. After a fortnight the first track alone will start making you drowsy.
