6 tips to fall asleep faster

1 May 2026 ¡ 5 min read

Falling asleep quickly is a skill, not a talent. If you regularly lie awake for 45 minutes replaying the day, these six changes will do more than any supplement.

1. Keep your wake time fixed

Most people try to fix sleep by going to bed earlier. It rarely works, because your body clock is anchored by the time you get up, not the time you lie down. Pick a wake time you can hold seven days a week — including weekends — and your sleep pressure will start arriving on schedule.

2. Give yourself a wind-down runway

You cannot go from inbox to unconscious in four minutes. Build a 30-minute runway: lights down, screens away, something slow. It signals to your nervous system that the day is finished.

3. Use sound instead of silence

A silent room is not a neutral room — it is a room where every creak becomes an event. Steady sound (brown noise, rain, a low soundscape) gives your attention somewhere harmless to rest. This is exactly what SnoozeBand was built for: audio you can lie on all night without an earbud digging into your ear.

4. Get the room properly dark

Even small amounts of light suppress melatonin. Blackout curtains are ideal, but a 100% light-blocking mask like SnoozeBand Pro gets you there in one step, and travels.

5. Cool the room, warm your feet

Sleep onset requires your core temperature to drop. A cooler room (around 18°C) helps that happen; warm feet help you shed heat faster. It sounds contradictory and it works.

6. Get out of bed if you are awake

If you have been lying there more than 20 minutes, get up and do something dull in low light until you feel sleepy. Staying in bed frustrated teaches your brain that bed is where you feel frustrated.

Give these two weeks before you judge them. Sleep responds to consistency, not intensity.
